ITHACA, NY (WHCU) — Hot temperatures are still dominating.

The National Weather Service has again extended the Southern Tier’s heat advisory, this time until eight o’clock tomorrow night. Tompkins County Medical Director Doctor William Klepack says the heat and humidity is a problem.

Klepack says you don’t need to be in the hot sun to risk consequences.

Klepack explains why drinking plenty of fluids is crucial during heatwaves.

The heat dome will eventually move on, and cooler temperatures are expected in the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes early next week.
