‘Elevate Cortland’ development plan still taking shape

CORTLAND, NY (WHCU) — Cortland County’s new strategic development plan is still being developed.

A summit was held Monday, and Trish Hiemstra with the Cortland County Planning Department says it’s been divided into four focus areas.

Hiemstra adds the Elevate Cortland plan is a fresh take on the county’s comprehensive plan from the 70s.

Hiemstra hopes to have an Elevate Cortland draft presented to county legislators by the end of 2024.
